You never forget your first and for the Whitecaps voyage into MLS they needed a difference maker and found one with Camilo. The Brazilian striker’s first two seasons were a lot like the team, inconsistent with moments of real quality, but in 2013 he put it all together for a truly special season that cemented his place in the top ten on this list. Camilo’s 22 goals that season secured the league’s Golden Boot in dramatic fashion as he entered the final day against Colorado Rapids knowing he needed two goals to tie Chicago’s Mike Magee.
Camilo scored three, one from the penalty spot, a sensational individual run and finish and then a fantastic volley five minutes from time to win the honour. Unfortunately, it would be his final game for Vancouver and his departure was controversial but while he was in Canada he certainly left Whitecaps fans with plenty to smile about.
